Absolute First Album is an album by South Korean girl group T-ara. The album was initially planned to be released earlier as a mini-album, however, it was decided that a full album would be released instead. Including the four singles released earlier in the year, the album spawned seven hit songs including "Good Person", "Lies", "TTL (Time to Love)", "TTL Listen 2", "Bo Peep Bo Peep", "Like The First Time", and "I Go Crazy Because of You". One track on the album, "Good Person", was to be re-recorded due to the member lineup changing after the original release of the song.

History

In November 2009 it was first announced that T-ara would be releasing their first mini album. The next week, it had been changed to a full length album and was released in digital format on November 27, with the physical release following on December 4.[2] The songs and album quickly hit #1 on all major music charts on the day of the album's release.[3]

Promotions

In order to promote the album, T-ara released two potential title tracks along with the digital release on November 27. After the teasers for Bo Peep Bo Peep and 처음처럼 were released, 9,000 fans were chosen to vote in a poll which would determine the song that would become the lead single for the album.[4] Although 처음처럼 won the poll, Bo Peep Bo Peep was performed and won 5 weekly #1 awards on KBS Music Bank and SBS Inkigayo. The group performed special remixes of Bo Peep Bo Peep, including Christmas and New Year versions of the song to coincide with the holidays. As the promotions for 처음처럼 began, main vocalist Soyeon was diagnosed with H1N1 and promotions quickly ended.[5]

Re-release

In early February 2010 it was announced that T-ara would be releasing a repackaged version of the album with a new title track in order to thank their fans for the success of their first album.[6] The title track for the re-release of the album, 너때문에 미쳐, was penned by singer-songwriter Wheesung.[7] The song went on to hit #1 on all major music charts and win several awards on weekly music programs like M.net's M! Countdown and SBS Inkigayo. The repackaged album was released in the Philippines by PolyEast Records June 2010.
